PARENT ADVISORY

Well Here we are at Noé ll Noah starting our fashion week posts with one of my favorite designers... Alexander Wang. Well sure the crop top is in, but it has never been done quite like Alexander Wang did for his Spring Summer collection. Alex stayed true to his not so colorful palette and and focusing on greys, whites and blacks mixed with Leather laser cut tops, pleated school girl skirts and clunky clogs that for some reason i love.

BOTTOMS UP

talking with my friend at the beach we were discussing how a mojito is the ideal summer beverage. It quenches thirst and cools you off after being in the sun or dancing at night.So here is my favorite recipe...

Crushed Ice

6 oz. of White Rum

10 spearmint leaves

6 tbs of lime juice

4 tbs of sugar

club soda

4 lime slices

Directions: In Shaker place ice, rum and 8 spearmint leaves, 

lime juice and sugar, shake well and serve over cup of crushed ice

Mens Summer 2014

All of Alexander McQueen's collections show appealing and ornate outfits. Aside from seeing a full outfit come down a runway, the detail and techniques used in creating an Alexander McQueen piece is mind blowing. For McQueen's mens summer 2014 collection texture was a big part in creating the suits. The blazers had quilted detail on top of the flowery prints or some were a lacy number and a couple stayed true to the McQueen "symbol" and had faint hints of skulls. I dont really know how to explain this mess besides that i love it and love what Sarah Barton has done.

Burberry Summer 2014

Christopher Bailey has done some outstanding collections for the English brand, Burberry. For his men's summer collection 2014 Burberry showed a mix of pure colors and of simple prints (checkered, polka dots, stripes. Christopher took many common pieces and made them distinct by giving them a pop of color or adding a different material. I love this collection and I love the way Burberry reinvented the color block trend...

SUNNYDAYS

Sunglasses have always been one of my MUST HAVE items... little did i know that i own multiple, They from my vintage Calvin Kleins to my $5 oversized circular pair.I wanted to make a post about SHADES is because (beside being a must have summer item)the other day i got asked " why do you own so many pairs of sunglasses?" and honestly i could only respond - "i really don't know, i just love them".Then i started thinking about how when i go out the right pair of sunglasses can give a finishing touch to one outfit, and having them gives my face a new, temporary appearance or shape. And of-course they block out the sun from your eyes making it an accessory that is both practical and stylish...

NEW PERSPECTIVE

It is safe to say that with spring/summer trends there usually comes some sort of vibrant or pastel colors and prints such as florals. but as Merly Streep says in the Devil Wears Prada "Florals for spring.... Groundbreaking". 

WHAT IS A WAY TO ALWAYS DO SPRING/SUMMER RIGHT

In the process of styling my friend for her summer graduation i started leaning toward a black and white outfit. This got me to start thinking and personally shifting my style to lean (temporarily) toward solid black and white pieces. BLACK AND/OR WHITE has no season, it goes with any color, it can be casual or formal BASICALLY you can't go wrong with it. What i have started to do is invest in a nice black or white piece of clothing or accessory that i can reuse throughout many years because it does not follow a notable trend. so this is my trend report for this summer -
