Bonjour Septembre...

September is the launch of fall and winter fashion...Magazines publish cold weather fashion and stores take out the summer clearance and put in the new winter collection. Here are some editorials from the September edition of French Vogue 

PLAD oh PLAID

So here it is... plaid has come for fall ( even though it has never really left). These past months we have seen Dries Van Noten, Saint Laurent and Zara (to only name a few) work this Plaid trend. Thanks to certain trend setting companies  plaid has shifted out of the  mold of mainly being on a flannel or oxford shirt and gone to sheer shirts and long skirts. I would say that definitely every Fashion Forward woman should be working some sort of plaid, It is almost a staple pattern to have in your wardrobe.

TOM BOY

The tomboy look is in.... Maybe one of the more high fashion trends but still it has been hitting the runways,look books and streets. So maybe instead of having your lacy blouses and platform heels try a simple button up ( perhaps from your boyfriend's wardrobe) and tailored trousers and a good pair of loafers. 

HARD DAYS TO COME

Every once in a while we need a Bold word of encouragement, and in this case they come on a oversized Lanvin necklace( which i love).Sam Rollison takes the lead in this amazing editorial in Interview Magazine where she plays a Hard core (semi-badass) woman who is out in the city with her slicked back hair and her layered oversized outfits... I am in love with this editorial, Karl Templer did an amazing job in the styling while Craig McDean shot some amazing pictures... and lets not for get the hair and make up done by Eugene Souleiman and mark Carrasquillo

CAVALLI

Seems as if Cavalli's pre-spring collection 2014 was color blocked, showing sections of the collection by their color starting with whites, then blacks, blues and reds. Prints, being one of Cavalli's strong points, was completely kaleidoscopic! I love how the strong, bad ass Cavalli woman has discovered a boho side of her.... check it out

Pretty Rad

I don't really know what happened at the Rad Hourani Haute Couture collection but it was amazing. Canadian designer, Rad focused on the construction and architecture of the clothing while leaving the color a simple black and white. He layered shirts and jackets with abstract seams,zippers and lengths all to create a unisex collection.I feel like i am always drawn toward collections that focus on construction and the fit....

PRADA

MULBERRY

Mulberry is beyond as well as their campaigns, and what makes my love for Mulberry even greater is the fact that for its fall 2013 campaign they used the IT girl, Cara Delevinge. I love how Mulberry creates a new world in their campaign and brings to life a mystical dream. I love the old trees and owls placed in a living room of a house. I j love Mulberry's functional and simple style for Fall( it goes well with the decorative jungle in the back)

DESERTED

SUMMER TRENDS

Summer is the season where people start to feel the FREE SPIRIT. And with that feeling you should pair it with a BOLD(unique) print. Have one or two items in your closet that are eye-catching (don't over do it with having every day being like this). BOHO mini dresses are au courant (seen in Saint Laurent's fall 2013 collection) and are perfect to follow up that free spirit 

The basic(semi printed) T is perfect for a hot summer day and not to mention that it can be very modern and awesome. t shirts are always a basic.And to go with that T pair it with an A line skirt. Yeah it is retro and all but it is in and creates a modern outfit. ( if styled right)

Nothing Really beats a classic, relaxed button up white shirt. It can be such a FRESH BREATH OF AIR to see this commonly used piece styled a little different. Same goes for a simple solid tank top dress. "Less is more". With these two items don't OVER do it, Minimal jewelry(OR NONE) and simple shoes. 

RESORT

Solid, Pure colors with eclectic prints is the start of Fendi's 2014 for their resort collection. What a fresh collection. I love how the hair and make-up is very light and clean with a heavy eye just like the clothes are soft and flowy with a bold print or color.

PUNK GOES ON

And the Punk trend still stands strong from fashion week to the theme of the MET GALA and now Versus by Versace takes it even further. What i really like about Punk ( and this collection) is that after all the spikes, studs and hair gel there are some very basic pieces that can be used day to day. i love my self a good plain, semi-oversized and comfortable T with a plaid shirt or a fitted leather jacket. Versus ok this trend and basic pieces and combined it with crazy colors and prints. I love it

CHANEL may be the Heart of Parisian fashion but it's empire continues to conquer. This 2013 resort fashion show CHANEL decided to show 60+ looks at a fashion show in Singapore. i loved this collection so so much that it was hard to pick my favorite looks. HERE IT GOES
